District Announces Dr. Jeanette Baubles as Director of Education (K-12)
The Mount Vernon City School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jeanette Baubles as the district’s Director of Education (K-12).
Dr. Baubles was the Regional Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Shore Regional High School District in West Long Branch, New Jersey, from 2014 to 2020.
“We are honored to have Dr. Baubles join the Mount Vernon City School District administration,” said Superintendent Dr. Kenneth R. Hamilton. “She will be deeply involved in setting and developing the curriculum to ensure that our students are challenged academically as well as supported socially and emotionally. She will also work with our staff to ensure they receive engaging professional development that will take them – and our students – to the next level.”
At Shore Regional High School District, Dr. Baubles led curriculum and instruction for the grades pre-K-8 sending districts as well as grades 9-12 students.
Dr. Baubles said that she came to Mount Vernon for the opportunity to work with energized leadership and to continue her career working with students in all grade levels. “I was very drawn to the authentic leadership that is in place here at Mount Vernon and has been for some time, meaning the leadership provided by Superintendent, Dr. Hamilton, and Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Gorman. I also enjoy supporting the whole grades pre-K-12 student experience. I have always welcomed the opportunity to visit classrooms at the primary, elementary, middle, and high school levels within the same day. The ability to work across an entire district’s student body is something that has always had strong appeal for me,” she said.
Prior to Shore Regional, Dr. Baubles was the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and High School Principal for the Plumsted Township School District, in New Egypt, New Jersey, from 2012 to 2014, and the Superintendent and Principal, for the Mountainside School District, in Mountainside, New Jersey, from 2007-2011. She also served in various administrative and teaching capacities at additional school districts since 1997.
She has a strong background in curriculum development, professional development, faculty and staff evaluation, budgeting within her departments, and grant management. In Mount Vernon, Dr. Baubles said that her current duties will center on curriculum development, instruction, and student assessment as the district continues forward during the pandemic.
“We want to make sure that teachers are as comfortable as possible teaching in this very new environment,” she said. “We will provide them with the supports to do so, including professional development and monitoring where we are within the curriculum.”
Dr. Baubles has a Doctorate of Education in Administration/Supervision from Seton Hall, a Master of Arts in Administration/Supervision from New Jersey City University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from the College of New Jersey, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University.
“The reason why I chose education is because I have a true love of children. I want to support teaching and learning so that the children I serve can become the very best versions of themselves. That is really at the heart of what motivates me every day,” Dr. Baubles said.
