Community Supports District's Literacy Efforts

oli There is no better gift to give during the holiday season than a good book. Celebrating the holidays and supporting our Superintendent’s Reading Challenge the district held their first Holiday Book Fair on Saturday, December 15, 2018  at Barnes and Noble Scarsdale. It was a day filled holiday cheer and the love of reading.  Dr. Hamilton debuted the OLI book with a spectacular read aloud with OLI beside him. It was a joy to watch the members of the the National Honor Society buddy read with Prekindergarten students throughout the day. Barnes and Noble patrons were in awe of performances by the Traphagen Elementary School Course, The Columbus School Band, and the Performance Visual Arts Orchestra.  The district garnered $5800,00 in sales with a fundraising profit of $900.00! All proceeds will purchase tablets for students who have met the Superintendent’s Reading Challenge.
