Edward Williams hosts Family Feud themed PBIS assembly for Black History Month

On Friday, February 27, the Edward Williams School community came together for an engaging and joyful PBIS assembly in celebration of Black History Month. The event was thoughtfully planned and facilitated by Ms. LeFever, Mr. Casey, and the PBIS Committee, creating an experience that blended education, celebration, and fun.

The highlight of the assembly was a school-wide Family Feud–style game, featuring lively rounds of teachers versus teachers and teachers versus students. Adding to the excitement, staff member Ms. Kristen Williams fully embraced the theme by dressing up as Steve Harvey, much to the delight of students and staff alike. Her performance set the tone for an energetic and laughter-filled event.

Throughout the game, students had the opportunity to learn meaningful and interesting facts about prominent figures in Black history, reinforcing cultural awareness and honoring the contributions of Black leaders and change-makers. The interactive format encouraged participation, teamwork, and school spirit while making learning fun and accessible.

In addition to the festivities, the assembly also served as a celebration of student success at Edward Williams School. Students were proudly recognized for their academic achievements during the second marking period, as well as being honored as Wildcat of the Month, highlighting positive behavior, effort, and commitment to our PBIS expectations.

Overall, the assembly was a tremendous success. Students were engaged, celebrated, and inspired, and the event reinforced Edward Williams School’s commitment to recognizing excellence, fostering inclusivity, and building a positive school climate.
