Rebecca Turner Academy students explore career pathways through Preparing for Your Future Series
As part of the school counselor-led Preparing for Your Future series, students at Rebecca Turner Academy took their career exploration beyond the classroom with two inspiring and hands-on events aimed at turning passions and interests into real-world aspirations. In late March, students visited the Westchester School for Medical and Dental Assistants, where they had the unique opportunity to observe and practice essential skills used daily in the medical field.
From taking each other’s blood pressure to operating EKG machines and even drawing blood, these practical experiences deepened students’ interest in the growing fields of healthcare and allied health professions.
The series continued this Thursday, when students welcomed Mr. Cruz from Universal Technical Institute. His presentation offered an in-depth look at the admissions process, curriculum, and core competencies needed to succeed in the automotive and technical trades. Students gained valuable insight into what it’s like to train and work in these dynamic and high-demand industries.
These opportunities, coordinated through the Preparing for Your Future initiative, are helping Rebecca Turner Academy students connect their passions to purpose, guiding them toward meaningful and attainable career pathways.
