Pennington School celebrates Read Across America with Superintendent
Second grade students in Taylor Luxoro's class at Pennington had a special guest reader for Read Across America Week yesterday morning, as Superintendent Dr. Demario Strickland read "Stand Up! 10 Mighty Women Who Made a Change."

This powerful book carried themes from February's Black History Month and Women's History Month, which is in March. Students have been learning about different influential women each day for Women's History Month, and this reading helped them learn even more about women who have made a significant impact on the world. Students are also beginning a project where they will pick an influential woman to study, and the book helped to give them ideas of the different people that they can learn more about.
