MVHS holds honor roll ceremony for second quarter
Mount Vernon High School recognized its honor roll recipients in front of parents and families at a ceremony on Friday, February 28, 2025. Principal Dr. Pauline Pearce began the ceremony by recognizing the dedication of the parents, and students stood to give their parents a standing ovation.
“Students, each one of you has worked immensely hard, exhibiting not just academic excellence but also the qualities that truly define what it means to be responsible individuals in our community,” said Dr. Pearce. “The theme of our year, Responsibility, Fostering Accountability for Success, resonates profoundly.”
Black History Month was also celebrated at the event, with two students signing the Black National Anthem and videos playing to highlight the importance of the month.
As the honor roll lists were announced by the assistant principals for each grade level, students walked across the stage to applause. Photography students also had the opportunity to take pictures of the honorees, practicing their skills learned in class during the event.
