MVHS cheers for winter sports teams at pep rally

MVHS cheers for winter sports teams at pep rally

On Thursday, February 13th, 2025, students at Mount Vernon High School whooped and cheered on their fellow classmates and student athletes during a pep rally to celebrate all eight winter sports teams. Participants in the crowd were excited to play tug o’ war and jam to the music provided by student DJs.

“This is a little hype-up for the basketball team,” said Patrick Flores, a physical education teacher and assistant coach of the boys swim team at MVHS. “Today is their last seasonal game before the playoffs, and we want  to get school morale up before break. We want to make sure the players are ready and that they have the support of the school, the school district, and the community.”

The Boys’ Varsity Knights beat Patrick School, 78-75, in their final game on Thursday.
