STEAM seniors celebrate last day of classes at end-of-year BBQ

On Monday morning, seniors at the Mount Vernon STEAM Academy celebrated their last day of classes and enjoyed a lovely end-of-year BBQ. Although it was raining, seniors enjoyed their morning by playing ball games, mingling with other students and enjoying a treat of hot dogs and burgers made by teachers and school staff. Students also passed around their yearbooks for others to sign, as this was the last day they will see one another until graduation on June 25.

“We are so excited to be spending the last day of classes with our seniors commemorating their senior year,” said Jenny Oliva, Art teacher and senior advisor at STEAM. “I hope that each of my students strives to achieve all of their goals and follow their passions to whatever career they pursue.”
