Gentle Yoga at Hamilton School brings families together

Gentle Yoga at Hamilton School brings families together

A mindful morning for families took place at Hamilton School Thursday with guided meditation and gentle yoga, headed by school counselor and certified yoga instructor Toni-Ann Trombetta and coordinated by parent liaison Maura Gutierrez.

This initiative not only brings families together to practice mindfulness and meditation, but allows parents to further engage with their children during the school day. Parent involvement is essential to student success, with research showing that students excel academically when families are active in their education.

Before heading into a morning of breathing exercises and yoga poses, families heard from Principal Marc Anthony Molina, who emphasized the message of family engagement while praising Ms. Trombetta and Ms. Gutierrez for their efforts in bringing families together.

“Thank you so much for coming out and joining us,” Mr. Molina said. “Before we get started, I have to thank these folks that made it possible…More and more the social, emotional well-being of our children, of our families is just paramount for all of our success.”
