Meteorologist visits Grimes School to teach students about weather
Grimes School students learned about extreme weather and meteorology facts during a visit from Vanessa Murdock, meteorologist at CBS2 News, on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
Ms. Murdock explained her job as a meteorologist and reporter to students, and she discussed some of the weather patterns that she has covered. She asked students what they knew about weather, and students answered with what they have learned in science classes.
She showed them videos of natural disasters and extreme weather events in Westchester and across the country. Students asked questions about different types of weather, clean-up and reconstruction, and how to stay safe in extreme weather.
