Inaugural Balloons Over S. 10 Parade at Grimes School

Inaugural Balloons Over S. 10 Parade at Grimes School

Grimes School transformed their hallways into the streets of Manhattan for their inaugural Balloons Over S. 10 Parade! Inspired by the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, students and staff throughout the school pranced down the halls as they smiled and waved to their peers. Check out photos from the day here!

Many of the floats and balloons crafted were based on books students read in class including “Gracie for President” by Kelly DiPucchio, “Chicka Chika Boom Boom” by Bill Martin and John Archambault, and “The Rainbow Fish” by Marcus Pfister.

This event is inspired by the book “Balloons over Broadway” by Melissa Sweet; which tells the enchanting true story of Tony Sarg, a self-taught puppeteer and artist who played a pivotal role in bringing the iconic balloons to the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade.
