DWSA holds first gaming tournament; winner takes home laptop
Denzel Washington School of the Arts held their first of several gaming tournaments on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, to identify the top eight players who will make up the Playmakers Team. The Playmakers Program is comprised of different schools and gaming teams around the country who are paid to compete in gaming tournaments. They will also learn financial literacy and how to venture into the different avenues of the gaming industry.
Karrington Tucker, ninth-grade DWSA student, was the overall winner and took home a brand-new gaming laptop. Congratulations Karrington! The top eight players will represent DWSA in upcoming gaming competitions.
