Graham School and Mount Vernon STEAM Academy principals recognized at Board of Education meeting

Graham School Principal Dr. Natasha Hunter-McGregor and Mount Vernon STEAM Academy Principal Dr. Christopher Pearce were recognized for recent achievements at their schools at the Board of Education meeting on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

Dr. Hunter-McGregor was applauded for Graham School’s successful reopening after emergency safety renovations caused the school to open remotely to start the school year. Consistent communication with families and swift work by the Building and Grounds Department helped ensure that students were prepared to come back to school with minimal disruption to their learning.

Dr. Christopher Pearce was commended for STEAM’s academic success, which was shown in their #22 ranking in Westchester County public high schools by Public School Review. Through intensive STEM and English language arts classes, the school achieved test scores between 85% and 89% in math and reading/English.
