PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Special Meeting of the Mount Vernon City School District Board of Education will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Education Center, 165 North Columbus Ave., Mount Vernon, NY 10553.

Comments about meeting topics and agenda items will be accepted at the email address MVBOEMeetings@mtvernoncsd.org. Parents, students and community members can voice their concerns, opinions and questions during and after meetings using that email.
It is anticipated that upon convening the meeting in public, the Board of Education may determine to immediately entertain a motion to convene an executive session for the purpose of discussing 1) pending litigation, 2) the financial history of a particular person or corporation or matters leading to the appointment, employment, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal or removal of a particular person or corporation and 3) to receive legal advice on a pending matter.
Public comments, if any, shall be limited solely to the items being discussed at the special meeting. A speaker wishing to make comments of any other nature may do so at the next regularly scheduled board meeting.

St. John Fisher College is holding an informational meeting for faculty about its Doctoral Program in Executive Leadership at the Mount Vernon City School District Education Center at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
The Mount Vernon City School District is offering subsidized Metro Cards for $145 per semester, half of the full price of $290, for all grade 7-12 students. The Metro Card is only valid on Bee-Line buses, not MTA. Cards are valid for five months, September through January and February through June. Cards are valid Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. with up to four trips per day.
