Pre-K 4 Early Registration and Pre-K 3 Lottery to open now!

Pre-K 4 early registration and the Pre-K 3 lottery application for the 2026-2027 school year are open now! Pre-K 4 Early Registration will be open from March 2 to June 19, 2026. The Pre-K 3 lottery will be open March 1 to June 19, 2026. 

Children entering Pre-K 4 must be 4 years old by December 1, 2026, and children entering Pre-K 3 must be 3 years old by December 1, 2026 (no exceptions). Pre-K 4 early registration and the Pre-K 3 lottery application will be accepted during the spring registration window, with lottery winners for Pre-K 3 announced in early July.

Families can complete the process online using the links or QR codes on the flyers. In-person registration support is also available by appointment at Mount Vernon High School.

A public hearing for the Mount Vernon Board of Education is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM at 165 North Columbus Avenue, Mount Vernon, NY 10553, with a building facade in the background.

Mount Vernon, NY – The Mount Vernon City School District was appointed an academic monitor by the New York State Education Department and will hold a Public Hearing for the State Monitor’s Annual Update. The hearing will take place from 6:00 p.m. 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in the Board Room at the Education Center, located at 165 N. Columbus Avenue, Mount Vernon, New York 10553. Individuals who are unable to attend the hearing in person may submit comments via email to kyoungwilkins@mtvernoncsd.org with “State Monitor” in the subject line.

All students interested in playing fall sports should make sure they have an up to date physical. You may go to your own physician, or physicals will be offered at the high schools. Athletes must do their physical at the school building they will attend in the Fall.​
