The Mount Vernon City School District’s draft proposed budget for the 2026-27 school year will be presented at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 4, at Great Centennial Zion Church, by Superintendent Dr. Demario Strickland. Please attend to learn more about how the District plans to invest in its schools in the upcoming year, provide feedback, and ask questions about the budget. The presentation will also be livestreamed.

Please attend to learn more about how the District plans to invest in its schools in the upcoming year, provide feedback, and ask questions about the budget. In-person half day - Friday, May 22

Please take notice that all schools in the Mount Vernon City School District will be open for a half day of in-person instruction on Friday, May 22, 2026. The date was reinstated as a school day due to closings from inclement weather in order to help the District satisfy New York State Education Law requirements for minimum days of school. Please adjust your calendars accordingly.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the Annual School Board/Budget Vote Election will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; for the purpose of electing three (3) members of the Board of Education of the City School District of the City of Mount Vernon, New York, to serve for a full term of three (3) years, beginning the first day of July, 2026, and expiring on the thirtieth day of June, 2029.

Join us for parent workshops at the Parent Resource Center at Graham School from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on April 8, 15, 22, and 29. Workshops are for adults only and are run by Mr. R. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for senior citizens, and $5 for students with ID. To purchase tickets, scan the QR code
