The Mount Vernon City School District has openings for per diem Registered Nurses, who perform professional services at one or more schools in the maintenance of acceptable health standards, school health records and the emergency treatment of students and staff.

Boys Basketball Brunch - 10 a.m. on Sun., Nov. 30 at The Bayou

Mount Vernon Knights Boys Basketball will host their 30th Annual Basketball Brunch at 10 a.m. on Sunday, November 30, at The Bayou, 580 Gramatan Avenue, Mount Vernon. Tickets are $55 per person and will be available at the door. Meet and greet the community, come hear from the entire team, and enjoy some amazing food! Proceeds will help the Knights kick off their 2025-2026 season. The brunch will honor MVHS Principal Dr. Pauline Pearce and Mount Vernon legend and basketball state champion Ricky Burton (Class of 1981).

State Monitor Public Hearing at Board of Education - 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tues., Nov. 18

The Mount Vernon City School District was appointed an academic monitor by the State Education Department and will hold a public hearing regarding the Monitors Findings Report. The hearing will take place from 5:30PM to 7:00PM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in the Board Room at the Education Center, 165 N. Columbus Avenue, Mount Vernon, New York, 10553.

Public hearings will be livestreamed on the District website and Facebook.
