DWSA Auditions and Open House - Sat. March 7, 2026, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Denzel Washington School of The Arts is calling all young & aspiring artists in Mount Vernon to attend the Auditions and Open House for the 2026-27 school year from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at DWSA.
Auditions
- Music (Band & Orchestra) - prepare to play an instrument
- Dance - prepare a choreographed piece. dress in dance attire.
- Vocal - prepare 16 bars of a song
- Musical Theater - prepare a song & monologue
- Acting - 2 minute monologue (memorized)
- Technical Theater - no preparation required. on-site info
- Visual Arts & Graphic Design - bring art portfolio
Open House
Parents and students will get a chance to tour the school and participate in a Q&A.

The Mount Vernon City School District is pleased to announce that Pre-K 4 early registration and the Pre-K 3 lottery application will open in early March for the 2026–27 school year. Pre-K 4 Early Registration will be open from March 2 to June 19, 2026. The Pre-K 3 lottery will be open March 1 to June 19, 2026.
