City of Mount Vernon holding National Family Day event at Edward Williams

The City of Mount Vernon Youth Bureau and the Mount Vernon Community That Cares Coalition are hosting a National Family Day event at Edward Williams School on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 3:30pm. This event is only for families of students attending Edward Williams School.

National Family Day promotes simple acts of parental engagement as key ways to help prevent risky substance use in children. Families will be served dinner, play games and win prizes.

Smart Scholars Zoom

The Mount Vernon City School District will be holding an informational Zoom meeting for Smart Scholars on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 5pm to 6pm. Scan the QR code in the image to join the meeting.  

RTA Meet and Greet

Rebecca Turner Academy is holding a meet, greet and eat on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 5pm to 7pm. Light refreshments will be provided, and two $50 gift cards will be raffled off.

The Mount Vernon City School District is offering subsidized Metro Cards for $145, half of the regular $290, for all grade 7-12 students. The Metro Card is only valid on Bee-Line buses, not MTA. Cards are valid for five months, September through January and February through June.

Unified Homecoming October 7 at 1:30 pm

The Mount Vernon City School District will hold the second annual Unified Homecoming game on Saturday, October 7, 2023, when the Knights take on Yonkers. The Unified Pep Rally will be on Friday, October 6.

The Mount Vernon Adult Education Program will hold its Fall Registration for NEW students in person from Monday, September 18, 2023, to Wednesday, September 20 from 6pm to 8pm at 170 E. Lincoln Avenue, Mount Vernon, New York. Sign up to take classes toward earning your GED or ESL classes to learn English. Classes are free and you must be 21 years old to enroll.
