SAVE THE DATE: 29th annual Parent Involvement Day on February 9, 2026, for all schools throughout the Mount Vernon City School District. The snow date will be February 10. The Mount Vernon City School District presents this initiative in collaboration with the Mount Vernon PTA Council and the Mount Vernon Parent and Community Forum on Education.

Registration Open for Big E After School Program

Registration for the Macedonia Baptist Church's “Big E” After School Program is open from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applications will be available at the church (141 S. 9th Ave., Mount Vernon, NY). In the program, your child will get homework help, strengthen reading, increase math skills, and do arts and crafts. Parent Training Zoom Workshop - Wed., Jan. 28 from 6 to 7 p.m.

The Westchester Institute of Human Development will host a Parent Training Workshop for Mount Vernon families from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, via Zoom. The workshop, Understanding the Special Education Process, will provide important information for parents and caregivers of students with disabilities who are new to special education and feeling unsure about the process.
