Registration for the Macedonia Baptist Church's “Big E” After School Program is open from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applications will be available at the church (141 S. 9th Ave., Mount Vernon, NY). In the program, your child will get homework help, strengthen reading, increase math skills, and do arts and crafts. The Westchester Institute of Human Development will host a Parent Training Workshop for Mount Vernon families from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, via Zoom. The workshop, Understanding the Special Education Process, will provide important information for parents and caregivers of students with disabilities who are new to special education and feeling unsure about the process.
