Flyer for family weekend event.

The Mount Vernon City School District is hosting its first ever MVCSD Family Weekend at Lincoln Center! The District has secured free tickets to see the Paul Taylor Dance Company on November 14, 15, and 23. (Transportation will not be provided to and from the theater. One has to make their own travel arrangements. The suggested age is 5 and up. The deadline for making reservations is Monday, October 14.) Persons should contact Daffodil Graham at DGraham@mtvernoncsd.org if they are interested in reserving tickets. You are encouraged to bring your family and friends for a night at the theater!

Benjamin Tuner Academy will be hosting a pre-Halloween costume party on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 5-9 p.m. This event is exclusively for 7th and 8th graders at the Mount Vernon City School District and is a $5.00 admission. Best costume will receive a prize!

Elementary school students from around the Mount Vernon City School District stepped off the bus at the Mount Vernon Board of Education for their first Elementary Superintendent’s Advisory Council meeting of the school year on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Students met with Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Administration Dr. Jamal Doggett, who explained how they would be working together to help improve their schools.
