Rebecca Turner Academy Celebrates 1st Quarter Success

Rebecca Turner Academy recently hosted its 1st Quarter Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance Assembly, bringing together families and staff to celebrate student achievement. Certificates were awarded to students earning Principal’s Honor Roll, High Honor Roll, Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance. In addition, students who demonstrated perseverance and a commitment to doing their best received On A Roll certificates.

New York State Education Department visits MVCSD

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Demario Strickland, met with several individuals from the New York State Education Department to present the District’s strengths and challenges Thursday morning. The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen working relationships between State Education Department area leaders and their district counterparts, while establishing next steps to assist the District out of academic and fiscal distress.

Traphagen students celebrated at Honor Roll Assembly

This past week, we proudly recognized our amazing Grades 3–6 scholars during the First Marking Period Honor Roll Assembly. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to learning inspire us all! Keep striving for greatness—this is just the beginning!

Traphagen School students create artwork after reading 'Gift of Words'

Ann Marie Gilligan's second-grade class at Traphagen School enjoyed reading the book "Gift of Words" by Peter H. Reynolds. After the read-aloud, the students created word trees by selecting words that hold special meaning to them and their families. This activity encouraged them to make personal connections to the text, celebrate their unique identities and share what matters most in their lives. The word trees are now proudly displayed in the classroom, showcasing the diversity and creativity of our learners.
