The Mount Vernon City School District's Athletic department provides guidance and direction for our school’s sports program. This includes preparing a budget and allocating spending on items like coach’s salaries, team travel, equipment purchases, and facility upkeep.
At the high school level, the athletic director, Coach Bob Cimmino, provides hands-on leadership in these areas.
Additionally, the Athletic Department is repsonsible for coordinating with coaches about scheduling of games and practices and collaborateing with conferences and leagues about subjects such as post-season play.
Our department assures student-athletes are academically and medically eligible for a given sport.
