Department Mission:

Benjamin Turner Middle School Social Studies Department is dedicated to providing students with a challenging education that will prepare them to become successful citizens in American society. 

Department Goals:

1. To provide students awareness of connections between history and the contemporary world.
2. To educate students about historical influences and circumstances that impact the way people live.
3. To motivate students to take an inquisitive approach towards social studies, including history and civic engagement.
4. To engage students in their roles and responsibilities as citizens of the United States and the World.
