Greetings Team Columbus!
Welcome back to the 2021-2022 school year! I am so excited to welcome all of the scholars back to in-person instruction this year. While it was a challenging last year, we stood together and rose to the challenge of educating students during a pandemic I am proud of the hard work of our students, staff, and families. Columbus strong!
To the new families, I would like to introduce myself to you as the new assistant principal of Columbus School. As I enter my second year as your AP, I am so excited to continue to serve the students, staff, and families of this amazing school. I welcome all input, and opportunities to collaborate with community stakeholders to help Columbus’ students soar to new heights, both personally and academically.
This November will mark my 21st year as an employee of the Mount Vernon City Schools. I began my career as a kindergarten teacher and transitioned into administration from a 5th grade teacher of math and science. I am a proud Knight and graduate of the MVCSD. So many educators helped to shape my world through their work in the classroom and I am eternally grateful! I hope to continue to pass that enthusiasm through my role as assistant principal.
Using the A.V.I.D program, rigorous instruction, adaptive curriculum, and maintaining a strong home-school connection I am confident that every child will make positive academic gains and unlock their full potential. The goal is to prepare our children to be self-reliant, goal-oriented, happy, productive members of the global society. And together, will can achieve this!
Again, I am honored to be a part of the Columbus School as your assistant principal. I look forward to working and growing with the staff, students, and families of this school.
