Pursuant to Megan’s Law, we have been notified by the Mount Vernon Police Department that several Level 2 and Level 3 Sex Offenders are residing within the community of Mount Vernon, New York. It is a part of our District Policy to notify our community of these alerts, including building principals, teachers, security personnel, custodians, coaches, bus drivers and supervisors of school-related programs.
Several of the offenders are classified as Level Two and are considered to pose a moderate risk of a repeat offense. There are also Level Three offenders in this report, who are classified as having a higher risk of re-offending.
Further information on these offenders is available on the New York State Sex Offender Registry website. Here are three ways to obtain this information:
1. The Division of Criminal Justice Services (Division) operates a telephone number (800-262-3257) which the public can call to determine if someone is on the Registry.
2. The Division maintains a subdirectory of level two and three sex offenders which can be accessed by visiting the SORA Division website at http://criminaljustice.ny.gov/nsor/.

If you observe any suspicious individual or activity, please be sure to inform the police immediately at 9-1-1.
