Aquatics Facility

  • The Mount Vernon High School swimming pool will open to families and residents of the city again this summer as COVID-era restrictions continue to loosen.

Public swimming will begin Wednesday, June 16. Mount Vernon residents will be able to swim in the pool on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, except for the long Independence Day weekend and July 31.

The last day of public swimming for the season will be Thursday, Aug. 18.

District residents interested in enjoying the pool will need to bring proof of residency and pay a fee of $5 per person per visit.

Four lanes of the pool will be available for open swimming and two lanes will be open for lap swimming only. Children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Swimmers with flotation devices must be within an arm’s reach of a supervising adult. Only U.S. Coast Guard-approved flotation devices will be allowed.

Our mission is to empower the community to achieve and maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle; demonstrate social responsibility, accountability, and integrity; and develop leadership abilities by providing the highest quality swim lesson program.

*Please be advised that in the event of severe weather, the aquatics facility may need to close early or open late. Check the website and social media for updates as necessary.
