It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome our new school community to the 2020-2021 school year! We are very excited to be welcoming your children back to school! While our learning has begun online, our amazing and talented educators will continue to reach academically further through online learning platforms to provide engaging and challenging learning experiences for our young scholars. Our continued commitment to fostering resilience, perseverance, empathy, and the ability to communicate effectively will undoubtedly help our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.The Nelson Mandela/Dr. Hosea Zollicoffer School is the newest addition to the Mount Vernon City School District serving approximately 330 students with a talented staff of 35 teachers. At the core of our educational philosophy is cultural responsiveness in a vibrant and exceptional learning environment to promote the academic, social, and emotional success for all students.Our Vision:
