Academic Power Hour

Academic Power Hour (APH) is designed for students in Grade 3-8 who require additional academic intervention and enrichment services to meet or exceed grade level state standards. Students will receive academic intervention services based on the New York State (NYS) Common Core Learning Standards and students’ specific academic needs. The program will also prepare students for the upcoming NYS English Language Arts and Mathematics Assessments. Students’ progress will be measured by students’ iReady, Beginning of the Year (BOY) and Middle of the Year (MOY) assessment results as well as formative and summative assessments administered by the teacher. APH provides individual and small instruction to help students achieve their maximum academic potential. The program administrator and teachers will be responsible for monitoring progress, reviewing the data, and setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) goals with teachers.
