Getting a free phone or a hotspot might be easier than you think!
Mount Vernon is offering free digital access and smart phones or Wifi Hotspots for High School students who qualify
Registration is closed for this school year.
The completed application should be handed in to your child's guidance counselor at your child's school.
The Mount Vernon School District is committed to providing the best possible education for all students. As we are committed to transitioning to 21st learning, students increasingly need to utilize the internet and web based educational tools to enhance their learning at school and at home. In order to ensure our students, have access to these tools Mount Vernon is proud to announce that it has partnered with the 1Million Foundation Project to provide free smart phones or hotspots for high school students that meet certain criteria.
Your child may qualify to receive this device, which includes a free 10 GB data plan to use each month, as well as a free text and calling plan that lasts for four years, or until graduation.
These devices are completely free and will be made available to eligible students that meet the following criteria.
- Students who have limited Internet access at home
- Students who have a limited data plan
- The household has multiple people sharing a single computer

In compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act, internet access will be filtered.
