Dr. Kenneth R. Hamilton, Superintendent of the Mount Vernon City School District has pledged to preside over a transparent, engaged and accessible administration. As part of that effort, Dr. Hamilton hosts "Supt Scoop," a bi-weekly television news show focused on the exciting events, programs, and opportunities taking place throughout the Mount Vernon City School District.
From student conversations and teacher features, to in-depth looks at programs, Supt Scoop aims to bring you the most comprehensive information about our school system.
In a nod to the district's Career and Technical Education program, Supt Scoop is filmed on location at the Mount Vernon High School television studio as part of a year long project wit the Advanced Television production class. From sound engineers and production assistants, to editors, producers and camera people, the production is almost entirely run by students, under the direction of Mount Vernon High School's television production teacher Jeff Corsello.
We were excited to welcome the C&T Cosmetology Program to pre-production team this year to prepare show guests hair and make-up.
The program, “Supt. Scoop,” will air at 7:30 p.m. on Mondays, 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, and 7:30 p.m. on Fridays on Channels 6 (Time Warner) or 33 (FiOs.) This monthly program will discuss major issues facing Mount Vernon students. It is produced onsite at Mount Vernon High School with the assistance of interested students. It is also available on the district website and Facebook page.
