• Tamisha Hall is a veteran elementary educator.  A native of Mount Vernon, NY, she has worked in the Mount Vernon City School District for well over a decade.  Ms. Hall began her career as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher before transitioning into the role of a reading specialist.  She is a graduate of Iona College (BS Elementary Education) and The College of New Rochelle (MS Literacy).  Ms. Hall is NYS certified – Elementary Education (N-6) and Literacy (K-6).  Ms. Hall has received training in Wilson Reading and the Spalding Method. She is an active participant in the Edward Williams School Community as a member of: School Leadership Team, RTI Team, Health & Safety Team, DTSDE Team, Testing Coordinator and Sunshine Chairperson.

     

    As a Reading Specialist/AIS Provider Ms. Hall takes on many roles:

    Instruction

    ·      Provides intensive reading instruction to struggling readers

    ·      Supports, supplements and extends classroom teaching in reading

    Assessment

    ·      Assess and analyze the reading strengths of students

    ·      Utilizes data to target specific student deficiencies

    Leadership

    ·      Collaborates with classroom teachers to provide quality instruction

    ·      Serves as a resource in the area of reading for the school community
