Lincoln Elementary School is one of the largest elementary school in the Mt. Vernon City School District, servicing students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. We are located at 170 E Lincoln Avenue, a main fairway through the heart of Mt. Vernon in the southernmost end of the Fleetwood neighborhood. There are on average of three classrooms per grade level in grades K-8. We are a diverse and inclusive campus serving 650 students depending on enrollment. Most families reside in the surrounding neighborhood and walk to school. Others in our school community are bused from areas throughout Mt. Vernon. A talented staff and an active PTA support our students in achieving our mission of engaging, educating and empowering our children.

Dr. Waveline Bennett-Conroy may be taking the reins officially as Superintendent of the Mount Vernon City School District on July 1, but she is already planning to begin assessing the district’s needs and starting to put the pieces of her comprehensive Renew, Recommit, Reimagine plan into action.
The Mount Vernon High School’s Class of 2022 celebrated its graduation on Friday, June 24. The ceremony took place at the high school’s football field and marked the end of students’ first full year back in the classroom since the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 214 students received their diplomas.
Seniors of the Mount Vernon STEAM Academy graduated on Thursday, June 23, at the school’s soccer field. The 113 members of the Class of 2022 were the second of which to become alumni of their school.
The second class of the Denzel Washington School of the Arts graduated Wednesday, June 22, in the school’s Phylicia Rashad Auditorium. The ceremony for the 54 students included speeches by the school principal, district superintendent, a board trustee, and the mayor, as well as the Class of 2022 president, valedictorian and salutatorian, among other dignitaries.
The Mt. Vernon Adult Education Program will hold its Summer In-Person Registration for NEW students June 27-30 from 6:00-8:00 PM at 170 E. Lincoln Avenue, Mt. Vernon, New York.
