Registration Procedures for the Mount Vernon Universal Prekindergarten Program (UPK)
Children eligible for the UPK program must be four years old on or before December 1st.
The prekindergarten program is in the following schools:

The NYS No. Section 3602-e of Education Law requires that school districts selection of students must be done by random selection. This will be completed on April 26th at the Mount Vernon Board of Education by a computerized lottery selection process. A computerized lottery selection will provide an equitable opportunity for all eligible students seeking to enroll in the Mount Vernon Universal Prekindergarten program. Parents will be notified by US mail of their status on or before June 1st. If your child is not selected he/she will be placed on a waiting list and you will be notified of their numerical placement on the list.
Registration
The registration will take place at the Prekindergarten sites in March. At the time of registration you must bring all of the following information with you in order to register:

Birth Certificate or Passport ·
Current doctor stamped Immunization Record ·
Doctor stamped Lead Test Results ·
(2) Proofs of Residency (Current Con Edison/Phone Bill, and Current Lease/Mortgage Statement or Notarized Landlord Affidavit and
Photo Identification of Parent/Guardian
